Working with Eman and Knowing Technologies has provided me with a skillset that I did not even know I was capable of. I feel confident in my abilities as a blended learning professional because of this program and because of Eman! She was able to help keep me organized, she constantly and consistently presented me with new tools that I will utilize FOREVER, she helped me differentiate my instruction, and most importantly because of Eman I was able to reach all of my students during a time when I was not even present with them. Eman helped change the dynamic of my teaching style for the rest of my life. I owe my Instructional Coach a lifetime of “Thank You’s.”

– Karter Clarke, Educator in cohort

In over thirty years of teaching, managing and mentoring educators, I have never had a colleague who was more trusted or beloved by all constituencies than Eman is. She is one of those rare educators who couples effervescence with serenity, sparking enthusiasm in learners of all ages and creating a sense of order and purpose in the school community. Every time I visited her classroom or reviewed her feedback to students and parents I was deeply impressed with her full and nuanced understanding of each student’s strengths and weakness in a range of areas: academic knowledge and skills, character habits, self-awareness, and social pragmatics.

– Carolyn Wilson, Director of Education

Eman is one of the best science educators I have had the pleasure of working alongside. She models professionalism and compassion in her classrooms, in the school and with colleagues. She has added a tremendous amount to our network, as I regularly see her helping teachers at other site develop and model her curricula.

I really enjoyed my year with Haggag because she has taught me how to be a better person as well as actually teaching me science and math. Haggag is so easy to talk to and very funny, she makes anything fun and would be a great person to be working for or having Haggag as an employe. She lights up every room she’s in.

– Nathan Fell, 7th Grade

Ms. Haggag has been a very supportive teacher and mentor to me for the past 3 years. I have felt very supported through my middle school years because of her. Ever since she started teaching me, the subjects that she has taught me have become my favorite. She is very fun to work with and be taught by and I hope that she finds a group of students and faculty that enjoys her presence as much as the people in my school have.

– Roxy, 9th grade

I’m really happy to be working with Eman on promoting student agency. She really believe in the students’ ability to do big things, and she holds them to a high standard for completing high quality work on time. She spend countless hours before and after school working with kids one-on-one to help them meet their personal goals and follow their individualized learning plan.

– Elizabeth Scotten, Humanities Educator

Ms. Haggag is the best teacher I have ever had in my life. She teaches very well, I understood everything with ease. And when I was absent, she would explain the concepts I missed to me. She also has an awesome personality. She’s kind, funny, sweet, and truly caring. I wish she could be my teacher next year again. She is a dedicated, hardworking, and sincere teacher. I will never forget her and I will miss her so much. Thank you for being the best teacher ever.

– Riyaad Azaad, 10th grade

The first word that comes to mind when thinking about Ms. Haggag is ’superhuman’. We cannot understate the appropriateness of this descriptor. She has committed her life in the service of young adults and is capable of connecting and influencing them on a level uncommon to most educators and adults.

– Adam Zolot, parent

Ms. Haggag has been helping me understand how the world works from the moment I met her three years ago. The stories Ms. Haggag brings into the classroom have not only helped me understand what we are learning in science and math but have helped me see the world through a new lens. As a Muslim woman, Ms. Haggag has faced many challenges that I won’t ever completely understand, but the more I learn from and about her, the more I understand about the world we live in, and it has made me see how so many things, like living in a safe community, which I am lucky to experience, are things that a lot of other people cannot count on.

Since meeting Ms. Haggag, I have learned the importance of not only of advocating for myself but also for others. Understanding other’s views has helped me learn that social issues – even if they do not affect me directly – are important to take a stand on. Ms. Haggag’s willingness to share her perspective has shown me the power we have as individuals to make a difference in our world.

It is clear that Eman creates strong relationships with students, and she uses those strong relationships to help students grow. I overheard her working with one student (Max) one day, to help him write an email to another teacher, taking accountability for his actions, and reflecting on feedback he had gotten from that teacher. Eman is dedicated, and she takes her own planning time to support students.
